As Rigol’s RF first signal source, the DSG3000 series offers standard AM/FM/ØM analog modulation, as well as options for I/Q modulation and I/Q baseband output. The instrument is available with maximum frequencies of either 3 GHz or 6 GHz. Featuring a high signal purity with phase noise measuring <-110dBc/Hz@20kHz (typical) and a wide output range of -130dBm to +13dBm, the DSG3000 RF signal generator has standard pulse modulation with an on/off ratio of up to 80dB, with optional pulse train generator available. The DSG3000 series also has an amplitude accuracy of <0.5dB (typical).

Complex Signal Analysis and Vector Signal Analysis (VSA)
RIGOL’s VSA Application extends the capabilities of the RSA5000 Series to include Complex Signal Analysis and Demodulation. The ability to analyze quadrature encoded signals makes it possible to characterize RF modulations including QAM and QPSK as well as ASK and FSK signals. Engineers can also validate signals vs preset standards for signals including GSM, W-CDMA, Bluetooth, 802.11b, Zigbee, and APCO 25. View constellation diagrams, spectrum, time, errors, and symbols to speed debug of these complex signals.
The VSA Measurement Application can be added to any RSA5000 Series Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer.

Over the last century, the complexity of maritime infrastructures has increased dramatically. At its Institute for the Protection of Maritime Infrastructures, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) researches methods and technologies for improving the safety and security of maritime infrastructures such as offshore installations, ports, and ships. Specifically, this includes vision-based systems for improved monitoring and reconnaissance of undersea infrastructures. Dr. Enno Peters, a scientist at the institute, has been working with The Imaging Source’s industrial camera, DZK 33UX250, featuring Sony’s Polarsens sensor. The sensor’s on-chip polarization technology captures multi-directional polarized images allowing for a number of image processing benefits such as improved contrast, and reduced glare.
