DAQ PCI-104 Express

Small Form Factor Embedded Computer Boards

104-Express boards are typically intended for use in small, space-constrained industrial control or vehicles systems. The standard size of these modules is just 3.550 × 3.775 inches (90 × 96 mm).

The name PC/104 comes from the original IBM computer known as the “PC”, and the number of pins used to connect the cards together (104). 104-Express boards, like PC/104 boards, are typically stacked on top of each other using stackable bus connectors and mounting holes at the corner of each module. This provides a much more rugged, embedded computer that can be used in harsh environments such as those found in military or industrial applications.

These rugged, self-stacking modules, allow for an expandable system without the burden of a motherboard or backplane with a fixed number of slots. Additionally, since 104-Express is basically PCI Express with a different form factor, most of the program development tools used for PCs can be used for a 104-Express system. This reduces the cost of purchasing new tools and also greatly reduces the learning curve for programmers and hardware designers.

High Performance PCI Express (PCIE) Data Acquisition And Control Cards

Choose from analog, digital, and serial I/O cards for your next application. The bandwidth of PCI Express (PCIe) is more than double that of PCI in a x1 slot and also features both hot-swap and hot-plug installation. If you don’t see what you need, ask us and we will make it for you.

Most newer motherboards are being manufactured with PCI Express (PCIe) slots. The most common PCI Express (PCIe) slot sizes are x1 and x16. All ACCES PCI Express (PCIe) cards use the x1 slot but can also be installed into larger slots. For example, you can install a PCI Express (PCIe) x1 card into an x16 slot (but it will operate at the x1 speed). The x1 slots are typically general purpose and the x16 slots are used for video or other high performance cards.

DAQ Signal Conditioners

Signal Conditioning

Sensors that are used to collect the data from the environment often don’t produce signal of characteristics optimal for an analog to digital converter (ADC) to translate to digital data. Additionally, these signals can be subject to electromagnetic interference (EMI) that introduces noise, having a negative impact on the reliability of the data. To make this analog input readable for the processing unit and dependable enough to give the desired quality of data the signal has to undergo a process of signal conditioning.

Signal conditioning is one of the key components of data acquisition systems that makes inputs usable for a DAQ system. When working with different ground voltages, proper isolation of the signal line is required as signals outside of the specified range of the ADC circuit can damage the sensitive components of the measurement system. Depending on the sensor, the signal might also need to have a higher amplitude to be effectively read by the digitizer, therefore requiring to be amplified, or a lower amplitude, therefore being in need for attenuation.

Our USB/PICO line was created for our customers which demand an even smaller footprint and certain specific I/O configurations. The size of these modules is exactly half that of PC/104 (72mm x 60mm) and can be mounted virtually anywhere, including Pico-ITXe next generation embedded CPUs. Both USB/104 and USB/PICO are stackable or unstackable, making them one of the most versatile I/O form factors currently available.

Axiomatic releases a compact and rugged CAN-Bluetooth® Beacon Gateway to receive sensor BLE messages and transmit them over a CAN network.

The AX141156 CAN-Bluetooth® Beacon Gateway receives Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) messages from tire pressure sensors or other Bluetooth beacons and sends that data over a machine’s CAN (SAE J1939) network. It supports up to eight beacons simultaneously. It uses Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) V5.2 standards.

The device can be configured wirelessly using the CAN2BLE Configuration app (available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store). This app enables users to manage all device functionalities, including setting PIN codes, configuring beacons, and defining forwarding rules. Users can configure specific bytes from the beacon frames or transmit the entire frame.

SAE J1939 is the CAN bus protocol for operation. It supports baud rates of 20, 50, 100, 125, 250, and 500 kbps as well as 1 Mbps and features auto-baud-rate detection.

It has rugged packaging and performance for IP67, high vibration and off-highway machine environments. It operates from -30 to 85°C (-22 to 185°F). The unit carries CE, UKCA, and Giteki markings.
