What makes them Smart ?
The AC controlled modules have
- An invert logic input
- A master input which releases all outputs
The DC controlled modules have
- An invert logic input
- A master input which releases all outputs
- Digital input control
- Additionally there are various models with Analog inputs that have adjustable On levels and Off levels
There are three categories of inputs in these DC products.
Each has a different levels for Input thresholds for deciding when to turn On and when to turn Off.
- Simple Threshold set at the factory
- Preset Threshold set and Flashed by MasTec at your ordering time
- Adjustable Threshold set by you in the field or on the bench
Some examples of the models available :-
Simple model – Input threshold levels set at factory manufacture time
Typical cases:-
1/ You need to control power relays or power transistors with AC Input levels 0-110VAC or 0-240VAC.
Purchase a Simple AC Smart Power Controllers > control logic levels automatically adjusted correctly with hystersis for 90 to 250VAC, with no adjustments.
2/ You need to control power relays or power transistors with DC Input levels of 12 or 24 VDC?
Purchase a Simple DC Smart Power Controllers > control logic levels automatically adjusted correctly with hystersis for 12 to 24VDC,
Preset model — we flash the input thresholds at your ordering time
You need to control power relays or transistors with non standard PLC, PAC, Computer Output Logic Levels
Typical Cases are
1/ You need to control power relays or power transistors use using any of these logic types – PC digital I/O system (TTL – 5VDC), a Micro (3.3 VDC), a Controller ( 9 VDC) or a PLC ( 12 VDC )?
Purchase a Preset DC Smart Power Controllers > We program the input thresholds you desire > Just connect and it will run correctly.
Adjustable model — adjustable by you in the field or on the bench
You need to control power relays or power transistors with DC Input levels in a range 0 -10 VDC, either using a logic control signal or a varying analog input like temperature or pressure.
Typical Cases are
1/ You need to control power relays or power transistors with a varying DC signal from a field gauge like a temperature transmitter, pressure gauge or flow meter etc
Purchase an Adjustable Smart Power Controller > just connect a varying 0-10 VDC input and adjust the Hi and Lo analog threshold levels inputs at setup time in the field and you can control power at the level you choose and have a hystersis level to get stable operation.
- Additional Control Inputs:
- Input line to “Invert Data”, to allow correct control for inverted logic
- Input line that does a “Master Release” on all outputs
- Input line to “Invert the logic of the Master Release” line to allow correct control for inverted logic
- Special models have > An Input line for “One Shot Timers Master Release”
- Special models have > An Input line for “Latching Outputs Master Release”
- Special models have > Additional Features and Models
- One Shot Timer Models
- LCD Display for I/O levels Models
- Latching output Models
The Extended Details for the MasTec Range
- Spec — MasTec has 80 +Power Controller models :
- DIN Rail Mount Module
- Compact, take the minimum of the rail, in other words high density.
- Screw Terminal on both the “Control inputs” and “Relay or Transistor outputs”. No Molex, Ribbon connectors etc.
- DC Models powered by 12-24 VDC
or - AC Models powered by 100-240VAC
- Base models have 4 or 8 relays/transistors – max size is 48 relays/transistors (special edition).
- Relay Models – 10 Amps 230 VAC Resistive 2Hz or 2 Amps Inductive 0.5Hz
- PNP or NPN Transistor Models 80 VDC up to 2 Amps
- CE Certified
- Wide temperature operation
- DC Set model – Input levels set to Standard Factory Thresholds – On threshold >10VDC – Std Off Threshold <5VDC
- DC Preset models – Input levels Preset to Customer Thresholds – On threshold 0 -10VDC – Off Threshold 0-10VDC
- DC Adjustable models – Input levels Field adjustable Thresholds – On threshold 0 -10VDC – Off Threshold 0-10VDC
- DC Adjustable/Preset models- Input levels Hi Field adjustable * Lo Preset Thresholds – On threshold 0 -10VDC – Off Threshold 0-10VDC
- AC Set models Input levels — 260VAC max – On threshold 80-240 VAC – Off Threshold 0-40VAC
- On all models there is an “Invert input line” allow reversing the input data logic – allows either sinking or sourcing data inputs etc .
- On all models there is a “Master Output release – input line” that allows the controller to release all outputs to open.
- On all models there is an “Invert Master Output release – input line” that allows either a sinking or sourcing control line to release all the outputs. A sinking system can go Hi rather than Lo and release the outputs.
- LCD Display option to show input and output states
- One shot option Preset with a timer that makes the output go to ON for x Seconds/minutes/hours when a threshold is crossed and then off again. “Early reset OS input line”.
Set Models –
Factory Set Input thresholds Off/Open <=5VDC and On/Closed => 10VDC (none adjustable in the field)
Preset Models –
At Buy Time the Preset Input levels are specified and flashed Off/Open 0-10VDC and On/Closed 0- 10VDC, You choose the level, Off must be less than On level — of course. (none adjustable in the field)
Field Adjustable Models –
Both On and Off Input levels are set in the field by connecting the required threshold voltage levels to specific threshold adjustable inputs using potentiometers or voltage dividers. Off/Open 0-10VDC and On/Closed 0- 10VDC, You choose the level in the field or on the bench, Off must be less than On level — of course. (adjustable in the field)
Field Adjustable & Preset Models –
The On Input levels is set in the field by connecting the required threshold voltage levels to specific threshold adjustable input using potentiometers or voltage dividers. (adjustable in the field)
Off/Open 0-10VDC. (none adjustable in the field)You choose the off level and tell us. Off must be less than On level — of course.
