Why Buy PK ?
Fault tolerant reliability
All UPSs basically use the same components, it is the topology, or how they components are used and laid out that determines fault tolerance and reliablitiy. As with any sophisticated equipment, it is impossible to ensure that a component never fails, but with a fault-tolerant designed product like PKs, any single component failure can be prevented from affecting the functioning of the whole system. This can be tested by removing one of the modules while the system is running. The system will continue to function without a hitch.
Flexibility in capacity
The cabinets are available in many different power input or output configurations to suit the organizations needs. All Cabinets accept standard modules to achieve the desired input and output configurations. Note that the cabinet KVA rating indicates the upper limit of the cabinet, and a bigger KVA cabinet can be used for smaller KVA applications with room for further expansion. For example, a 19 KVA cabinet can be used for a 5 KVA application by just inserting 5 power modules. Future upgrading in 1 KVA increments up to a maximum of 18 KVA is assured.
Flexible backup time
A single Power-Module has its own built-in battery to provide sufficient backup time for most applications. To double a power modules backup time, plug in a Battery-Module. You can add as many Battery-Modules as necessary to get the desired backup time.
In the event of a major UPS fault, the traditional method of servicing required a technician to be sent to your site to remove the entire UPS unit of more than 200 kilograms for transportation to the service center, and then back again. During this repair cycle, the system is unprotected for days, weeks or even months depending on the damage or fault.
No technician is required. Just pull out the malfunctioning module and send it off for repair and servicing. When it is returned by courier, simply plug the module back into the cabinet. During the repair , your system is still protected as faulty modules can be removed and replaced without stopping the system.
Easy Installation and install anywhere
Ever tried to install a 30KVA UPS on the 10 th floor. Very difficult with traditional UPSs but with PKs modularity it is very easy as no component weighs a lot. Just wheel a hand trolley into the elevate with the components, do three trips and assemble.
In a conventional UPS, each component is responsible for a specific function and needs to be sized for a fully rated output of the UPS. When one fails, it could cause the whole UPS system to fail. The failsafe construction of the PK products means that each module has its own set of components to function independently of other modules. As such, each set of components needs to carry only a fraction of the rating of the whole system. If the component fails, it will only affect a particular module. The other modules in the system will continue to function.
