Sheldon is true Real Time DSP and DAQ and actually allows running LabVIEW or VB directly in the DSP engines. These are the fastest DSP systems around at present and when linked to a multi cores, you will not believe the performance.

The new Sheldon standalone Ethernet DAQ & DSP box running LV or VB locally, has enormous data performance when linked to Giga Networks back to multicore systems. e.g build an earth radio telescope --- that will blow the socks off any on the planet at present.

National Instruments have DSP libraries optimised for multi core Intel and AMD chipsets.

When these functions are locked to a core or several cores they run as fast or faster than DSP chipset now.

Using LabVIEW as the engine, it is possible to do this locking and actually build true parallel operating data flow driven DSP.
