There is a lot of buzz surrounding the Raspberry Pi platform. Due to its eye-popping capabilities and low price, engineers are investigating more ways to use it in their designs.
Raspberry Pi is the 3rd best-selling general-purpose computer platform, trailing only the Microsoft® Windows® PC and Apple® Macintosh®, with over 12.5 million sold as of 2017.

PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology is now very mature and still expanding in uses.

POE is made possible by the injecting DC Power into some of the 8 wire in an Ethernet Cable.

There are two types of POE

Mid-span: +48VDC is delivered across the Ethernet cable using the unused pins (4, 5, 7 & amp; 8).

End-span: +48VDC is delivered on on the same pins used for data (1,2,3 and 6).

Usually POE is a high DC voltage > 24, sometimes much higher > 55 VDC.

This injection usually takes place at the Ethernet Switch or with a POE Injector product.

However now there are Computers and PACs that do the DC Power injecting also.

At the far end of the Ethernet Cable an Etherent DC Splitter which brings out the DC and passes through the Ethernet data. The Splitters convert the POE voltage to standard voltages such as 48, 24, 18, 12 or 5 VDC.

It is possible to pump quite a lot of power down an ethernet cable > 100 watts and still have reliability in DC supply.

So imagine you are setting up video survellliance. All the cameras are 12VDC and TCP Gigabit Ethernet for the image data. Just plug the camera into the splitter for the DC power and the ethernet cable and you are done. You do not need to be near AC power to set up the camera, offering great placement freedom.

The same is true of course for DAQ systems that have ethernet data connections, see some of the manufacturerss in the list of suppliers.

POE is very convenient and saves a lot of installation time and money. If you are doing DAQ work there is no need for PSUs. Just plug the Remote DAQ into a splitter and ethernet data cable and you are done.

And of course the Ethernet Cable is a great high speed data pipe for DAQ. Mastec has a LabVIEW system controlling 4 DAQ units running at full data rates of >100KHz each and the Laptop connected to the DAQ via a POE Ethernet switch, doesn't blink.

Functions and Advantages

Parallel/3-Phase Control

IT8600 provides parallel and 3-phase functions for three-phase and high-power applications. In 3-phase applications, users can make Y or connection according to their specific requirements. IT8600 is available for AC 380V input to meet diverse test requirements. ( *Only IT8615 and IT8615L are with this function)

Oscilloscope Function

The most unique highlight of IT8600 lies in the oscilloscope display function, which can display the input voltage and current waveform of the device under test
measured. Through the screenshot function key to save the current screen picture to peripheral storage disk by the front USB interface, easy for the second analysis.


I/V Monitor

IT8600 AC/DC electronic load is with I/V monitor and allow users to observe current and DUT output voltage through connecting to oscilloscope of BNC. DC Loads with AC Regeneration

IT8300 Series Regenerative DC Electronic Load

It not only can simulate various load characteristics, but also can feed power back to grid without pollution. IT8300 series unique regenerative function can convert the Battery Absorbed DC Power into AC power and feed it back to local grid. This can be single phase or three phase AC Power. This regeneration of the DC from the batteries back to AC power eliminates the usual heat dissipation experienced with most DC Loads (without Regen) to a minimum and saves energy costs, adapts requirements of global energy-saving and emission reduction at the same time.

IT8300 adopts high power density design, e.g. for 3 U size, it can absorb power up to 10.5 kW.

IT8300 supports master-slave paralleling and current equalized distribution, which can expand the power up to 105KW or more.

Moreover IT8300 has multiple functions such as the automatic grid-state detection, on-grid electricity accumulation, anti-islanding protection, battery-test function, dynamic mode, LIST function, etc.

The built-in interfaces include LAN/USB/RS232/RS485/CAN interfaces.

The various functions make IT8300 series suitable for high-power power supply, storage battery, photovoltaic battery, electric vehicle, energy storage system, etc
